Xantrex has a long and distinguished history in the renewable energy world: The brand started out as ‘Trace’, and was the very first to offer reliable battery-based inverters for people living off-grid. These inverters were in fact so reliable that we still regular run into them, now decades old, still going strong! Trace was renamed to Xantrex somewhere along the line, and most of the Xantrex brand in turn was taken over by Schneider Electric, now being sold under the ‘Conext’ brand name. The Xantrex name survives for the mobile market, with the smaller and less expensive inverters being sold under this name, while the big ones are going under Conext.
